James Gandolfini was a strong supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit founded in 2002 focusing on providing aid to and empowering injured service members. The org does not limit the scope of injury to physical ones accrued on the battlefield — those coping with mental hurts including PTSD are attended to by Wounded Warrior Project as well.

HBO cites the organization and its mission as one that Gandolfini was passionate about, made evident by Gandolfini’s 2007 documentary “Alive Day Memories,” which aired on HBO centered on wounded soldiers returning home from Iraq. For more information: the Wounded Warrior Project

I began as a labor of love in 1999 and have been financing it out of pocket since then. I’m really happy to share information about this fine actor and great man and will continue to offer this service. There are various costs involving in creating, designing, running, and maintaining a website and if you’d like to contribute to this site, anything you’d like to offer will be well appreciated and put to good use. Thanks for enjoying the grand James Gandolfini and his wonderful body of work.
